If you’ve read my blog for very long or follow me on social media (especially Instagram!), you probably already know I’m a big bookworm. I would read all day, every day like I did as a child if I could. But, alas, those days are long gone… for now anyway! Despite my limited time to snuggle up with a good book and cup of tea, I still endevor to read a good amount of books each year.
In light of my one word for this year, I decided to choose twelve non-fiction books–one for each month of the year–to make myself slow down, ponder and put into action what I read. Each book goes along with a specific theme or focus that I have chosen for the month. So without further ado…
My 2016 To-Read Book List
January – Own Your Life: How to Grow a Legacy of Faith, Love and Spiritual Influence
February – The Power of a Praying Wife
March – Onward: Engaging the Culture without Losing the Gospel
April – The Hidden Art of Homemaking
May – Missional Motherhood: The Everyday Ministry of Motherhood in the Grand Plan of God
June – Simply Tuesday: Small-Moment Living in a Fast-Moving World
July – Word-Filled Women’s Ministry: Loving and Serving the Church
August – When Children Love to Learn: A Practical Application of Charlotte Mason’s Philosophy for Today
September – Practicing Hospitality: The Joy of Serving Others
October – Money Making Mom: How Every Woman Can Earn More and Make a Difference
November – Treasuring God in Our Traditions
December – Unwrapping the Greatest Gift: A Family Celebration of Christmas
There are three books that are not listed above that I will be reading this year as well: The Bible (obviously!), The Cross-Centered Life (a book I read at the beginning of every year and will talk more about in the near future) and God’s Abundance: 365 Days to a Simpler Life (a devotional that I will be using for the year). I’m sure there will be several additional books I end up devouring over the course of the year, but these are the ones I plan to focus on right now. Also, I would like to begin reading more fiction than I have in the past few years. If you have any good fictional book suggestions be sure to let me know!
